"Differential Motion Dynamics of Synaptic Vesicles Undergoing Spontaneous and Activity-Evoked Endocytosis"
Amy Peng, Ziv Rotman, Pan-Yue Deng and Vitaly A. Klyachko NEURON 73:1108-1115, 2012.

Synopsis: The authors use nanometer-resolution imaging to examine the dynamic properties of synaptic vesicles in central neurons, with the focus on vesicles supporting two fundamental forms of neurotransmission, the spontaneous and activity-evoked ones. The study demonstrates that the vesicles involved in these two forms of neurotransmission differ in dynamic behavior, particularly in the ability to engage in motor-mediated transport.
